At just 21 years old, Handler decided to pursue stand-up comedy full time, after she discovered her storytelling talents. Handler's professional career started as part of the all-female Oxygen television show in the series with a hidden camera called Girls Behaving in a way that isn't normal. The show aired on air from 2002 until 2005. The actress was a part of other show, like Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler began working on The Tonight Show as a reporter. Handler's big break came in 2006, after she started hosting her own program on E! it was dubbed the Chelsea Handler Show. It ran for two seasons. Handler then performed in America as part of the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. Stand-up comedy performances from Handler have been shown on VH1 along with Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and HBO. In 2010 she was informed that she would be hosting the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. She became the second woman in history hosting the VMA's post Roseanne Barr.
